We’ve been recording podcasts for the past 2 years, and we are finally ready. We have spoken with women in business, women in tech, women in STEM, women in politics, women in arts and culture. We have over 30 podcasts that are ready to see the light. Are you ready? Here we go!
Episode 1. Cassandra Farrington – MJBizDaily.com
Our first video podcast is an interview with the marijuana industry pillar, business-woman extraordinaire, our wonder woman, Cassandra Farrington of MJBizDaily.com. She runs the MJBizDaily, which is a business news outlet for professionals in the recreational and medical cannabis industry in North America.
Cassandra has an impressive resumé, with degrees from the University of Alabama and a MBA from The University of Texas at Austin (Go #Longhorns!), and she brings her knowledge and skills to the budding cannabis industry, specifically to the publishing/news side.
We talked about being a woman in the business of marijuana, especially coming into the industry without prior involvement with the plant, medicinally or otherwise. We talked about the business opportunities for women in the cannabis industry, about the massive income opportunities that this plant can bring to the states that have legalized it, the medicinal qualities of this plan, the federal government’s involvement with the plant, and a lot more. It is one of the most franc interviews you’ll see, and I’m sure you’re going to learn a lot. We did!
If you’re unfamiliar with Cassandra or with MJBizDaily, it’s because you might not live in a “green” state. She is the co-founder and owner of one of the Top 10 fastest growing women-led companies for 2018, which is no small feat!
Today, we’re at the MJBiz NEXT Conference in New Orleans, and we’re so excited to meet and hear all the amazing women in business, in tech, in law, in finance that are working in this industry. We’ll be bringing you updates from the conference, as well as an in-depth look at the role of women in the cannabis industry in our next issue, coming out June 21st.
But enough talk. Let’s get you to the podcast.
